Apparently there are plenty of just-worlders on this board who can’t believe that sometimes bad things happen to good people. I was surprised myself.
The post said the person in question woke up in a hospital, so yes, I imagine at least one blood test was done. (Hospitals generally run blood tests as a matter of course.)

Ok - I don’t know the guy, but it appears either his own wife doesn’t believe him - or thinks he deserves it.
Is he sure he isn’t on a benzodiazepine? Being on one and mixing it with alcohol can effect many people in a negative way. They are prescribed for sleeping and anxiety - and I bet most people that are taking one - dont even know they are taking a benzodiazepine.
Did he report the truck break-in and wallet missing - or just the attempted mickeying? Were credit cards stolen?

See, again. It has the structure of a joke, but it makes no sense and isn’t funny. Maybe you should take some lessons on the whole “humor” thing.
Just to correct a misconception here, there aren’t many drugs that will give you a positive benzodiazepine urine screen except benzodiazepines. And none of them are drugs of abuse. So either he was taking benzos for fun, or someone dosed him with them.
Actually, I think female orgasms are a fair analogy here. They definitely happen, but not as often as most guys think (“Oh yeah, every girl I’ve slept with has had an orgasm. Every single time! It’s amazing, really.”).
Of course some people get roofied. But I think the vast majority of suspected drink spikings are simply someone drinking more than they thought faster than they anticipated. The cited Australian study seems to support that.
As to this particular case, I am somewhat perplexed. What exactly is it about this bar that made the cops suggest he was “asking for it?” Does your small town have a bar known for roofies?

I used to go to a lot of bars, nightclubs, strip clubs and fraternity parties in my youth…and adulthood. I can’t confirm if I’ve ever seen anyone roofied. I have seen a lot of 120lb girls who didn’t eat anything all day, making bold statements like “how they can drink guys under the table” or “are Irish and don’t get drunk” only have “one” drink and next thing you know are so sloppy drunk they have no idea where they are.

What I see here isn’t so much blaming the victim as much as it is some critical thinking. The OP is not the victim. He was not there. He got the story second hand. We get the story third hand. It is reasonable to assume the whole story has not been heard or some of it has been lost in translation. That’s it. If you want to be ashamed of the board you should save it for something more worthy like the Sandusky thread or one of the Trayvon abominations. Otherwise you just look silly.
