Roscoe is home!!!

On the night of May 30, I had left my front door open a bit to get fresh air. Unknown to me, when I went to bed that night and shut and locked the door, Roscoe, my indoor only cat has slipped outside. I didn’t notice he was gone till the next morning when he didn’t wake me up wanting to be fed, this is his normal MO on weekend mornings. I spent a couple hours looking for him, inside and out, and could not find him. He was a feral kitten when I got him about 4 years ago and other than me and my granddaughter Alicia, he won’t let anybody near him. He has never been outside and I figured he was running scared. I left food outside, it went uneaten. I left flyers around the neighborhood with no results. The only hope was last Saturday when my grandson Joey said he saw him on the front porch. I spent over an hour searching and could not find him.

Shortly after I got home from work today I had dozed off in my office chair. Gracie May, my other cat woke me up a bit later and was meowing at the back door. I went to the door and looked outside and Roscoe was sitting on an old bookshelf. I opened the door and he ran under the house. It took me about 15 minutes but I finally got him close enough to grab him and bring him back in the house. For 10 days Roscoe was on his own, other than being a lot skinnier, he looks good. Since I brought him in he has spent his time wondering around meowing, eating and stopping by me to be petted. Things have been really crappy for me lately, hopefully this is a sign things are going to improve.

Yay!!! I’m so glad for you, and poor Roscoe. I bet he won’t do that again.

I’m so glad for you both!

Yeah for Roscoe!!!

We had our beloved Fatty missing for 9 days a while back. It turns out he was caught in an elderly neighbors garage. She hardly ever went to town and had accidentally locked him in.

We were resigned to the fact that he was a goner and were very sad.

When Fatty showed up it was a very happy day indeed.

Good for you
and Roscoe

I am glad to hear he is back. They can really give us a scare.

My daughters cat Button gave us a scare over the weekend. She is an indoor/outdoor cat but she does not stay out very long, maybe an hour or two at most. Over the weekend it was very hot here and she went out and did not come back in. We were also having bad storms. She ended up being out all night which she has never done before.

I kept looking and calling for her all morning. Then one peak around to the back door and there she was. She came right in and ran to my daughters room. That was one happy girl when she woke up to find her best friend laying next to her.

Awww…I love a happy ending! Glad he’s home, safe and sound.

One of my bird-owning friends lost a cockatiel to the outdoors earlier in the week (her dad accidentally let it out.) She worked very hard putting out fliers and putting up posters and yesterday, Sunny came home. Someone found it on their porch, caught it in a towel, and took it to one of the local pet-stores where she had left a flier. Yay for good samaritans, and for pet owners who work hard to find their lost babies!

hooray for a safe return!

You named a cat Roscoe? Does he perchance have a love of handlebar mustaches and leather vests?

Yay for you and Roscoe (who is a big cutie, btw!)!

I’d recommend having him checked out by a vet to make sure he didn’t pick up any bugs or parasites or anything while he was out there.

Welcome Home, Roscoe!!

Two snaps up!

That is good news. Enjoy your reunion!

Awww…that’s a beautiful little orange boy! So glad he came home…there are so many things that can happen to them out there…
