After watching most of the Rose Parade this morning, just curious - When was the last time it was held in the rain? I’m in my “cough” 50’s and don’t recall ever seeing that before.
This LA Times article states that it has been 51 years since the Rose Parade was held in the rain.

I am rather shocked that it is raining today. I was born and raised in LA and I wouldn’t call myself superstitious, but it being a bright and sunny day for the Rose Parade is just one of those things I have taken as a given. It DOESN’T rain on the Rose Parade, it just doesn’t. The fact that it is raining today is a bit offputting.
Well, the last time it rained on the parade, Supreme Court Justice Earl Warren was the Grand Marshall.
This year, the Grand Marshall is Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor.
Hmmmmmmmmm…
Honestly, there are lots of people in my parents generation whose families moved to CA because of the weather they saw on New Years Day in Pasadena! I even know a few!
