Ross the internt on the Tonight Show

Has he ever said unequivocally that he’s gay?

I remember him showing up a few years ago in sketches and he was pretty flaming from the start. I’ve since watched a lot less Tonight Show but happen to catch the one last night where he was at the World Series. In it he makes a joke about a “beard”, which can mean “a person who is used as a romantic partner to conceal one’s sexual orientation”.

I generally don’t like to make guesses about people’s sexuality because I have horrible gaydar, but Ross is pinging the gaydar pretty wildly. Has he ever just come out and say he’s gay?

He speaks of his sexuality often as a regular on the Chelsea Lately show.
I think he’s got a great sense of humor.

If Ross isn’t gay, my gaydar is irrevocably broken and should be tossed out in the trash.

BTW, in addition to his “beard” comment last night, he also made a very obvious “well, duh” sort of reply when Jay asked him if he was enjoying San Francisco.

I knew Ross in college. He’s never been coy about his sexuality.

His wikipedia page mentions he’s openly gay.

Was Liberace gay? Was Truman Capote? Ross is somewhere between them on the flamboyant scale, but not on the isn’t it obvious scale.

I dunno, have you seen him with the crocodile hunter? At 3:51 he tells Steve Irwin to call him sweetheart, I got 5 bucks on gay.

Yeah, I think even horrible gaydar could pick up on Ross. Even on the Tonight Show, he would throw in all those little references like the one the OP caught.

If he wasn’t gay, I’d say he was trying to make people think he was.

What I’m more impressed by is his voice. Usually the up pitching typical of gay men sounds like an affectation to me, but on him and the guy who plays Kurt in Glee, it sounds 100% natural–like there’s no straining involved.

(I don’t mean it actually is an affectation, just that they could have healthier vocal production if they’d lower their pitch. I’m a vocal major–I notice these things.)

Buddy Cole’s opinion.

“And who knew Liberace was gay? I mean…women loved him”

He was in Minneapolis this year for the Gay Pride parade and was doing radio interviews for it.

I love Ross’s wit. Funny guy. Definitely gay and proud.
