Basically…two questions:
-
What is it called when a corpse’s flesh starts to somewhat melt/liqify? I thought it was putrefication, but apparently I’m wrong.

What conditions would a body have to be in to lead to such a condition of a corpse?

1)It’s called liquifaction.
2)I think anaerobic bacteria working on a corpse will produce said effect. So, the conditions necessary are - no oxygen, bacteria that will function in this environment.
Et voila: smelly, smelly corpse.
