Rough week, need Doper virtual hugs

I hope that Susan is feeling better soon. When I was little we had a cat who had a brain tumor unbeknownst to anyone until he snapped and attacked my mom. The bites/scratches to her hand too quickly got so infected it landed her in the hospital for about a week. I hope your wife isn’t laid up that long.

My husband once tried to free a mouse from one of our cats (which I told him not to do), and got bitten for his trouble. He waited a day to see the doctor, and his hand was pretty swollen. Fortunately, oral antibiotics took care of it, but his hand was out of commission for a week.

Jennshark, I feel like a jerk, I thought I’d responded to this much sooner. I hope by now everyone is feeling so much better and hugs for everyone!

Hi all, thx for your kind thoughts.

Jack got heavy-duty antibiotic injections on Thursday, he seems a bit better today (Sunday); he’s going in tomorrow, I’m also thinking he needs some drainage. Our vet is hesitant about sedating such an old dog, we’ll see what’s up with Jackie.

Yes, we also think Jack has some tooth infection and it’s why Susan’s hand went septic so quickly - the bite wound infection could related to lowered immunity. She is out and hand is almost normal. Thank heavens for modern medicine, this is the kind of shot that killed folk in ye olden days.

My prayers are with all’yez.

Such a relief to hear from you! Many prayers, hugs, and good wishes on ya!

I’m glad your wife is out and about. I’ll keep a good thought for Jackie. {{{more hugs}}}
