Took a cue from Trump I guess
Sorry, but I ain’t buying that Roy Moore’s “friends” (which they obviously weren’t) cooked that up, they were just the bag men who certainly look the part. It was Bannon’s “friends” and they probably worked for Cambridge Analytica, however indirectly through cut-outs.
I love the way the writers of that piece left so much for the readers to conclude on their own without pointing out some of the obvious implications. Even before I got towards the end of the piece, I was like: “Is this why Bannon really got the heave-ho from Breitbart and the Mercer’s good-graces?”
Do conservatives have some sort of disease where they are all slowly going batshit crazy? Why don’t you hear about this sort of thing on the other side of the aisle?
if the lawyer agreed to that deal he would be disbarred.
I don’t think so. Honestly, I can’t see anyone national thinking you could buy off a lawyer for $10K. $10K is what a group of yahoos could raise.
Large sums of money attract large sums of attention. Countless are the tales of bribery and corruption that turn on absolutely piddling amounts of money, and this was a small-time Arkansas lawyer with cash-flow problems, not the typical bigwig. Why offer more than they thought was needed? They could always increase the offer if it being too low was the issue.
And as I said, these were probably cut-outs who knew very little except someone wanted them to help discredit accusations against Roy Moore and there were big deals in their futures if they could make that happen. The how was probably left up to them by design. These people aren’t exactly known for their discretion.
Speaking of these people, oh what’s this I read in another WaPo article after my first post?
*"Cambridge Analytica and SCL Elections laid out three goals for Bolton’s group: to help it elect Republican Senate candidates in Arkansas, North Carolina and New Hampshire; to raise the issue of national security; and to boost Bolton’s profile, according to a memo obtained by The Post from the second former Cambridge Analytica employee."
*Turns out John Bolton (Trump’s new best bud) had a SuperPAC that was one of Cambridge Analytica’s first clients.
Oh shit, did I just mix up Alabama and Arkansas? :o
Slowly?
Easy to do, even if you’ve been there.
(I kid, I kid! Not to mention, I haven’t been to either one.)
