I just saw the Alabama Court of the Judiciary give their findings on the judicial misconduct charges against the Alabama Supreme Court Justice. It was unanimous on all counts. Moore is now the former Supreme Court Justice.
Good on the Alabama Court of the Judiciary.
And a hearty fuck you to Mr. Moore. (Who at this moment is already blathering on in front of the cameras. I guess his political campaign starts now. )
Not if he’s disbarred. There are rumblings that such a proceeding may be in the works. Dunno if they’re true or not, but it would be a fitting end to his judicial career.
Couldn’t happen to a bigger asshole. When admitted to the Bar he promised to behave in certain ways. He has not. He is an embarrassment to the legal profession and should be disbarred.
You’re confusing Roy Moore with Alabama’s Attorney General, William Pryor, who was nominated for a federal judgeship by Bush. Moore was never nominated for anything.
Eh, he’ll just run for a non-legal position. Possibly Congressperson.
And judging from the large number of slack-jawed supporters he has, he’d probably win. Perhaps we’ll luck out and he’ll be struck by lightning as he’s being sworn in.
Alabama Attorney General Bill Pryor was the one nominated, and not Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore. Pryor agreed with placing the monument in the rotunda, but also believed that Moore should have complied with the federal order removing it.
He also is the one who filed the ethics charges against Moore.
Hey, are you discriminating against Christian fundamentalists? What if he was Muslim? Would you be so quick to say “Yay! Another towelhead bites the dust?”
Yeah! Or what if, like, he were a Jew, and instead of a courtroom it was a concentration camp, and instead of a panel disbarring him, it was an SS contingent murdering him? Would you be so quick to cheer then? huh? huh?
Hm. If he were, hypothetically, a Muslim judge who placed a religious monument in a courthouse and defied an identical federal order to remove it, and was then removed from office by an ethics panel, then …
Yes, I’d be cheering his removal. Even if he were a short, Hispanic, Hindu, French-speaking, physically handicapped Communist gay black woman, I’d be cheering his removal.
