I thought last night’s episode was ok but it seemed more like exposition and character introduction than a real story. So we got all of about 30 seconds of Andrew McCarthy?

I agree. It wasn’t bad, but it just seemed kind of scattered and unfocused. Like they were trying to get too much into the episode. Each character had one little issue, and some of them overlapped a bit, but the whole thing never really came together.
My (Dish Network) DVR says last night’s ep, which I have not watched yet, was episode 3. I was like bwuh? Anyone else get this?
It felt almost a little sitcomy to me. In the last topic I was hoping that the doc would get over his “I hate the hamptons” attitude. But it dropped so fast that it felt fake.
I do like the teen couple though. They’re fun.
That’s what Alan Sepinwall said. He thinks maybe it was shown out of order to give new viewers more exposition. He was bored with it too.
After seeing the 6/18 episode, I’m convinced 2 and 3 were shown out of order - I guess maybe they were afraid that we couldn’t remember that the kid had some daddy issues for more than a week?
And Evan is chasing women in this episode like the ballerina from last week never existed - no mention of her at all.
That actually makes a lot of sense, though I don’t know if the continuity is quite so clean in his relationships to his assistant and the lady doctor.
I really hope Evan sticks with being a benign comic relief side note and not quite so big a douche as he was last night.
that was the other clue - in the 6/18 episode they (Hank and Jill) had their “first date” in the hospital commisary. Well if so, what was that chinese food dinner in the backyard of that house for sale at the end of the 6/11 episode?

I think eventually the brother’s going to get in trouble with Boris and I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s banished or something from the house…
