Royal Pains

The promos for these I’ve been seeing look pretty entertaining and I’m really intrigued by the cast. It’s totally a “that guy from that thing” cast with a bunch of character actors you’ve probably seen around in some other stuff.

Premise looks cool too, pretty much this main character is a live in doctor for a ridiculously wealthy guy in the Hampton’s…good stuff and never been done before

Here’s the imdb entry.

I need to watch the first episode just because the premise of “doctor gets fired from his job because he saved one crashing patient instead of a rich hospital board member” annoys me. I wanna see if they even try to explain the legality of that.

This is sticking in my craw too, it’s supposed to set us up for a “tragic victim of unjustice who takes a bad thing and makes it much better” story with a hero we can cheer for, but it trips my “errors that kill your suspension of disbelief” alert something fierce.

I’ll watch and see, and if they can’t manage the set-up for the entire basis of the storyline well, it’s one and done and on to better season passes on my DVR.

It’s a private hospital, and messing up is reason to fire someone, I’m sure it’s dealt with fine.

I’m more interested to see what he does when he gets to the Hampton’s in any case, not what he does to get there. That’s the draw for me to this, the whole concierge doctor thing.

I have not seen it.

Perhaps someday I will. Perhaps.

Well, no one’s seen it yet, it doesn’t premiere until June 4th alongside Burn Notice.

Should be good though, his brother looks like a pretty hilarious and I remember Paulo Constanzo from 30 days and 30 nights and Splinter…good to see him in the cast.
