I started on Vampire. I’ve made a werewolf char, but I’m not the type.
In Nomine. Shadowrun. Had a horrible time with Star Wars, and still haven’t forgiven my game group. (They were bad and mean and are still apologizing.)
I would dearly love to play more Adventure or Exalted, but time is a premium.
Currently, my group is doing D&D, Mage (yea!), and the new LOTR roleplaying. (Which I hardily reccomend to anyone. The play system is the most elegant thing I have ever heard of much less touched. Char creation is a bit finicky, being that to do it, and understand what you are doing, requires an iterative process.)
I love Mage. Have I mentioned that? I will occassionally make Mage chars for fun if I’m bored. Including extensive backstory. I have a really good one I can’t wait to be played, but that woudl require giving up my darling Maryssa, who I love. So if anyone wants a neat orphaned Mage char I’ll give her up, free to a good home.
Heh… actually Vancouver is the first Live game I ever played (I rped in Free Form online for about 4 years before) but I’ve found this one isn’t run that well… it’s more ‘ug thug me smash’ than anything else… the others I play are a mix and when we get together we actually role play with very little fighting or tests… heh… in the Edmonton vampire game the very first one… my c got made to believe she was Lillith… lots of fun.
Changeling is just for people who want to play cute little muppets as opposed to the World of Darkness.
Hi! giggle I’m a Pooka! giggle I don’t like mean people… they make me really sick! This is my friend True-Heart Bear!
Banality, bah I’m surprised the entire Changeling book doesn’t go dauntain under the weight of its own Banality.
I play Vampire and Mage and personally.
Feh, Eidolon. Cute little muppets my butt! Changeling is for people who don’t wanna be all melodramatic/pretentious/whatever. I miss it so much…playing Vampire is enough to make me roll my eyes sometimes.
“We are the children of the night, we are better, we are…”
“…really, really boring?”
Not that I’m not still playing it.
And if you come over here and talk smack about Changeling, I’ll hopscotch your ass into the next century; you bet I will!
I am playing D&D (1), Star Wars(1) and Amber(Way more than 1), all online.
I am running, online Amber (2 games), and FtF Mummy and Werewolf: The Dark Ages at the moment.
I have played all versions of D&D, all the White Wolf stuff (including the LARPS), Gurps, Paronia, Bunnies and Burrows, Battle Tech, Boot Hill, Role Master, Shadow Run, Pendragon, Traveller, Warhammer, In Nomine, Castle Falkenstein, Callhan’s Crosstime Saloon, and Night in the Lonesome October.
Still playing (well, mostly GMing) after 23 years. Used to play a goodly mixture, Runequest is still my all-time favorite… with Call of Cthulhu in second.
These days, with the little nipper using all my spare time, I’ve only just got back into GMing DragonQuest after short hiatus – the campaign I play and GM in is multi-GM and has been running since '81 so they didn’t miss me for a bit.
For anyone who is vaguely interested, my two DQ web-sites: DragonQuest Vault – New and altered rules and stuff. Mortimer’s Library – In character world and myth stuff.
Like most people, started out with D&D/AD&D.
Played a little in college, and was in a Shadowrun group.
After graduation, would ocasionally gather and play Mechwarrior (RPG aspect of Battletech, usually with a BattleTech round worked in) and Ars Magica.
As people moved away, it is now a yearly event. We mostly play strategy games but try to get a RP game worked in (ShadowRun, with me as GM)
I also go back to school for the annual gaming convention. I try to play a new game every year (not ness a RPG)
So I end up playing twice a year. I have a friend who is making noises about gaming, but I doubt he would follow through and even if he did, I don’t know who else we would find.
