Rugby Union autumn internationals

Anybody been following these? I’ve only managed to see the iPlayer highlights of England v. New Zealand and England v. Australia, but it seems that interesting, free flowing running rugby is finally back after the major teams (OK, mostly England) tortured their fans with the kicking borefest for a few years.

Both games were amazing, especially England v. Australia (most because England won ;)), with both teams putting in good performances with plenty of turnover and big runs. Special mention for Chris Ashton’s try, a full pitch sprint after an Australian push on the England try line.

I watched the All Blacks destroy a pathetic Scotland side this weekend. Not that I expected Scotland to win of course, but figured they’d put up a fight for a bit and then fold when that interesting, free-flowing, running rugby got to be too much. But Scotland never looked threatening. Maybe the Irish will at least make it look good for a half.

Did not get to see the Eng v Aus match but heard that the Poms smashed 'em pretty good. Poor Robbie Deans…

And Stephen Jones can go fuck himself! I like his writing most of the time but every now and again, he loses the plot. So FOAD Stephen Jones!

South Africa scraped home against both Ireland and Wales having gone to sleep for large portions of both games and then been awesome for other parts and defending like demons for the last five minutes of each.

Really looking forward to the SA v England game in a fortnight.
