Last year I bought a Ruger K10/22-22 at :shudder: Wal-Mart. This is a ten-round semi-automatic .22LR caliber rifle made of stainless steel and having the “de luxe” chequered stock, sling swivels, rubber butt pad, and a 22-inch barrel.
The 22-inch barrel is the thing that makes it unique, as the normal barrel length is 18 inches. I wanted to find a photo of it online so that I could show it to a friend, but I can’t find one. (That is, I can’t find a photo. I was able to find a friend.) I went to the Ruger site, and I can’t find the K10/22-22 there either.
I just bought it because I wanted a .22 and I liked the longer barrel. But now that I can’t find anything on it, I’m curious to know more about it.
Is the K10/22-22 still made? Is it a Wal-Mart specific model? Is it discontinued? Is it a “special edition”?
Try a search on Google groups for more info. Just use the search string “k10/22” and you should find lots of info. Seems the trigger does not get the highest rating.
It’s often called the “Wally World Special”. It’s a Special Edition rifle made for sale at Wal-Mart stores. 22 inch barrel, birch instead of walnut stock, stainless. That’s about the limit of what I know about it.
MrTuffPaws: Close, but a different stock and mine doesn’t have a bull barrel. I assume the trigger is the same as on the standard model I had back in the '80s. If so, then it should be adequate. I just wanted a plinker.
Aha. That would explain why I’d never seen it before. (I think I’ve been to Wal-Mart half a dozen times in my life.)
Hay jla from what iv’e read if it’s still made? You’ll be on a waiting list till the stainless rust’s sorry, bought mine back around 2004 or so, it’s great i put on a bushnell scope, haris bipode that swivels, birdcage f/h and a rubber but with a longer mag release 25rd clips for it, i also checered out with black on this stock, i’ll try and send a picture, yes it is a s/e from lipseys, don’t know if i spelled that right but u can look it up on the ruger sight, the way i have mine set up it would take
