“If you’re just using profanity as a general exclamation or intensifier, though, it tends to detract from

I once asked why people swear in the subject line along with their question & for no reason but never got any real answers.

Hey… Is this good or bad this mention?
It’s sorta like that song by Jim Croce:
You don’t tug on Anthracite’s cape
You don’t spit on jarbabyj
You don’t pull the mask off the ol’ Polycarp
And you don’t mess around with Collounsbury…
Wow, Anthracite, you’ve got a cape? Cool. Can I see it? What color it is? slap Oops, sorry, caffeine overload. slinks out of thread, embarrassed

Oh good. Well in that case I shall pack away my natural sense of paranoia
Some other points:
If you start a thread, be sure to post it in the right forum. Mods hate moving threads and half the time they’ll just lock it if it’s in the wrong place.
If you start a thread referring to a Cecil/Staff Report column, provide a link.
Use the Preview button before posting. We’ve all learned that the hard way.
Don’t cross-post, i.e. post the same thread in different fora. There was a big stink here recently when someone did that.
