He won’t quit until he’s adjusted trade deals and taxes to benefit his corporation. That’s the ONLY reason he ever wanted to be president. It’s all about winning more money.
I know that. I just think that starting with Trump, we should return to the old tradition.
You know those magic wishing beans you traded the cow for? You got ripped off.
Regards,
Shodan
I’ve been saying that he wants to be Emperor, but, yeah, yours works, too.
Think on this: If he quit, we would have an evil president who really knows how to get things done.
Not just that. All of the advisers are presumably knowledgeable and articulate. Even if they don’t directly say, “You’re an idiot”, one has to expect that Trump is reading that thought in their body language several dozen times every day. And then he goes on to his phone to check the news and every single article is saying, “You’re an idiot, and here’s why.” And this is a man who can’t handle winning the election without winning the popular vote. His world view is firmly entrenched in the awesomeness of his own being. And that world view is being steadily, competently hammered at.
Of course, I have a bet going on the subject, so certainly I won’t be surprised if he quits.
But I’d rather see him impeached for his ties to Russia, as that could take out Pence as well.
Nixon?
[Nixon’s Head] ARROOOO! NIXON’S BAAACK! ARRROOOOOOOOOO![/NH]
I’m not so sure about that. Quitting because “they (insert latest Trump lie) to me and they set me up!” Is much more plausible.
My guess? He’ll leave the country one night amid scrutiny and scandal, land in Russia, get his usual room at the Kremlin and announce he’s got a better opportunity-the BEST investment opportunity- and resigns. Never returns in fear of trial.
Pence might be a slightly less nuclear option, though.
Correction: Never heard from again.
I think I would choose evil but rational over crazy.
Seriously, our world’s survived with evil yet rational U.S. presidents. The jury’s still out with the crazy.
Honestly, I don’t believe a shred of these rumors, or take them with a huge grain of salt. All sensational unsourced space-filling journalism, as far as I’m concerned.
So what do you think he thinks about the job? Do you think he’s liking it and adjusting well?
No idea. I assume he’s having a bit of an adjustment period. I doubt he’s thinking of quitting. I don’t need rumors to fuel my fantasies of what’s really going on in the White House. I don’t care about how anonymous sources claim the president is feeling any particular day. There’s plenty of real, sourced news to occupy my time and consternation at this presidency.
I mean, this same old shit has been peddled since day one of his candidacy, that he isn’t serious, that he won’t hack the rigors of campaigning, that his campaign is on the verge of exploding, etc. It’s just junk journalism, appealing to our sense of schadenfreude in wanting to see this president quit/implode. It hasn’t happened yet, and I see no reason to believe it will. I see no reason to believe that he’s not up for a fight, and perhaps even enjoying it. He looks like the type who likes being angry all the time.
Speaking of Trumpish rumors…At least one political pundit, and not a radical one, thinks that Trump is of low literacy. Not illiterate, but close to it, and can’t read much at all. The evidence he gives doesn’t thoroughly convince me, but it might have some merit.
If it is true, it’s not surprising – someone with that much power (and powers of bullshit) could certainly cover up such a liability by having lackeys read for him.
There are supposedly no videos showing Trump using glasses, but there is one where he says he needs glasses to read. And reportedly, his tweets are sent by a secretary. As I said, not very convincing, but David Pakman might be on to something.
I proposed the same idea.
I don’t dare hazard a guess about what he’ll do, because I’ve been wrong from the start. But I wouldn’t be surprised in the least if he wove a bullshit reason to take his crayons and leave if he gets tired of not being treated like an absolute authority.
I also continue to hope that he’s abducted by aliens and transported to a zoo in some far galaxy. A girl can dream…
