I recently started running and I was curious as to what all that “pounding” is doing to my bones, ligaments, joints…ect. I had read one survey of long distance runners that stated none of them had any knee, muscle or other physical problems. But that was a survey of runners from one group, which does not sound very scientific to me. Can anyone site any studies of running and negative health factors?
There’s an article at the [url=“http://www.sportsinjurybulletin.com/archive/running-injury.html”]Sports Injury Bulletin that you might find iteresting. It goes into details about … well, i’t sjust pretty darned detailed. It talks a lot aobut differet repetitive stress injuries adn stress fractures, but also about some surprising results that weren’t quite expected.
Thanks for the link. It’s what I was looking for.
