How different does bare feet hitting track/pavement differ from shoed feet hitting those surfaces?
IME, hurts a lot more running barefoot. Depending on the quality of the track, it can still hurt using track shoes, which are made to be very light (and very thin) and offer little protection from hitting what is effectively rubber on top of pavement.
IME, that is. New England might make tracks different from other places. I’d rather run on grass, myself.
How does the SOUND differ?
