Gods & Kings (Mac) is back available for $7.50 – Grab it fast if you want it. Don’t need to download it right now, just buy it for the Steam key.
Cool, thanks for posting that. I tried to buy it on a tablet during the day Sunday but Amazon didn’t like that. By the time I tried on a PC Sunday night, it was over. Now I got it.
GOG is potentially giving away a free copy of Realms of Arkania 3 for doing a connection speed test. You’re not guaranteed a win but you can try from multiple devices/computers/connections and/or re-try after a few hours.
Thanks for the tip!
I won a code but I don’t have time to play another RPG. One of you can have my code (single-use only, so once it’s gone it’s gone.)
For what it’s worth, “a few hours” is apparently “however long it takes you to move your finger to the F5 key”.
Steam started their black friday sale. New deals every day through the 26th. It’s not as big as the Christmas sale, but enough traffic that it should probably get its own thread.
GreenManGaming also has some sales going on:
Mass Effect 3 for $12
Civ V: Gods & Kings Steam for $10
And 20% off other titles with coupon code GMG20-1FYLZ-EDG8R
Cool. I’d invite you to repost that to the other thread. After thinking about it, there will probably be a lot of black friday sales this year from various distributors, so we might want to focus all that discussion into that one thread.
Just wanted to share this story for a laugh - I downloaded this when I saw the notice of the sale (and thank you very much), but had to laugh during the download… My anti-virus program, Avast, was flagging it as a potentially questionable file since its database had few to no instances of this file showing as being downloaded before across the Avast users’ database.
In other words, yes, Avast agrees that very few people bought this game… *
It let me download it, but put it into quarantine during the download until I flagged it as acceptable in the pop-up alerts. I’ve never had that happen before with a games download!
- OK, I suspect it meant that very few of their users bought that game via GMG, but still, it cracked me up.
Back to the old stand-by thread!

Far Cry 3 is available for $38 on GetGamesGo. Not Steam activated (I assume it’s activated through Ubisoft’s uPlay service).
While unfortunately this is sort of strange and reeks of desperation, the THQ Humble Bundle
is a pretty ridiculous deal.
I feel weird about it since it seems like the humble bundle should remain an indie thing, but it’s hard to object to this sort of thing. THQ is in dire straights and this seems like a desperation move for some cash - hope COH2 is ok.
Games are Darksiders, Metro 2033, Red Faction Armageddon, Company of Heroes and expansions, and if you beat the $5.47 (current) average price, Saints Row 3.
This is a ridiculously good bundle, needless to say, so don’t cheap out and give them a buck. Never do that for humble bundles - that’s so obnoxious.
I guess there is no reason that model should be restricted to indie games, and THQ has put out some good stuff. I already have Metro 2033 but got it for $5. Darksiders looks like the most fun when I’m in the mood for a beat-em-up. I don’t love RTS but I like WW2 games so we’ll see about Company of Heroes. And Red Faction Armageddon looks ok but don’t like the third-person view. I liked the destructible terrain in Red Faction all those years ago.
GMG has a 30% off voucher GMG30-DEC01-ARFC9 good through the weekend. Works on pre-orders and Guild Wars 2 as well as the usual games.
GMG also has an offer for a 35% off voucher if you pre-order a game but you have to pay full price for the pre-order and can not stack the 30% discount and get another 35% voucher.

The absurdity of CS:GO being on their gamepad friendly list is mind boggling. I mean same goes for L4D2 and all the FPS games, but especially CS:GO.
Anybody play the Crazy Machines games (on sale for 60% off currently)? I’m kind of in the mood for a rube goldberg like game, but reviews are decidedly mixed.
Not quite Rube Goldberg, but the game COGS is a cute, clever, mellow puzzle game in which you have to line up gears & steampipes to solve. Wait a few weeks for the Steam Holiday sale, though.
The in-game sounds are better than the music in the trailer, but the trailer shows the variations in gameplay better.
