Running digital distribution game sale/special thread

Thanks for that. I just thought I would report that it was the same game we remember, not an update or remake.

I normally don’t do these, but the deals here are way too good for me to mention.

This weekend, GOG.com is running an 80% off on select Telltale games and 50% off all Interplay games. The Telltale games are below. (All appear to include the disk-only special features.)

Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space
Sam & Max Save the World
Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse
Wallace & Gromit`s Grand Adventures
Back to the Future: The Game
Tales of Monkey Island

Interplay games include the early Fallouts, Descent (1&2), Earthworm Jim 1+2, 3d.

And, as a reminder, these are all DRM free.

You can go to…

…and test your fortune for discount coupons on Alan Wake, Trine, Legends of Grimrock and Rochard.

Thanks, Revtim! Been waiting for this.

Earth 2160 is available free from Green Man Gaming until noon GMT Wednesday. So, for Americans, essentially today only.

Everyone under the sun seems to have Darksiders II on sale for $16.99 right now but people are reporting that GamersGate is getting them the “pre-order” version with additional bonuses.

Weekend deal at Amazon

THQ pack for $9.99

  • Homefront
  • Metro 2033
  • Red Faction Armageddon
  • Red Faction Guerrilla
  • S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl
  • Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine

That’s a very nice deal. SoC alone is worth that.

I swore I wasn’t going to buy anything until the Steam Christmas sale, but I’ve been looking at a couple of these titles for a long time. I’ll probably get around to playing them in 2015.

Thanks for being on the lookout.

You can get Battlefield 1942 free on origin in their demos section of their client. Still a pretty great game 10 years later - you’ll have to edit some ini files for high res. Still people playing - if you give a game a proper client-server architecture, and it’s a classic, people will play it for 20 years.

For people getting the THQ pack, my personal recommendation is that you get the Stalker Complete Mod. Nicer graphics, some AI fixes, bunch of bug fixes, ends the insane head bob, etc.

Hitman: Absolution - Professional Edition is just $29.95 with code GMG35-FGR37-COY0B from Greenman Gaming

Kingdoms of Amalur is $8 on GMG with code GMG20-1FYLZ-EDG8R.

Activates on Origin

Gods & Kings for Civ V is $7.50 on Amazon.

It’s for the Mac download version but it’s a Steam key and will upgrade both Mac and PC versions (assuming your base game is through Steam).

Are you sure of this, because I’ve been waiting to get G&K

Thanks, Jophiel!

Yep, it works on the PC! I just bought and downloaded it (just get the key from Amazon and download through Steam directly). After activating it on Steam, it said “Gods and King Mac” but then proceeded to automatically update my Civ 5 installation. Plus, the Store page says I own it, and the game is listed as SteamPlay (Mac + PC). And the game works – religion and espionage and all

As a bonus, you get $5 off a future Amazon digital purchase for a 2012 GOTY game starting next January – effectively making this G&K for $2.50. Not too bad at all. Thanks, Jophiel!

Thanks both. I’ll be getting it when I get on my gaming PC

Too late! Damn it.

Sleeping Dogs is $13.60 today from GMG with code GMG20-1FYLZ-EDG8R. That’s a really nice price.

Jesus, didn’t that JUST come out?
