Running digital distribution game sale/special thread

Just Cause franchise is 75% off on steam today only. $3.75 for Just Cause 2, highly recommended (need dx10, win7). At like a quarter each, hovercraft and monster truck DLC too.

Get it so we can do JC2 multiplayer together.

Dark Souls: Prepare to Die edition is $20 on Amazon
Walking Dead is $15 on Amazon

If you get Dark Souls, be sure to pick up this mod which greatly expands the graphics options and takes them from “console” to “awesome”

I have a Steam key for a free copy of DiRT Showdown - I guess first to enter it takes it:

4BDYE-L707H-JE99C

However, I humbly request that you only redeem the key if you’re genuinely interested in playing the game. Also, please post when it’s taken. Thanks.

Thanks. I took it. You know I’m a DiRT fan so it’s in good hands. Out of curiosity, where’d you get it? Video card bundle?

Indeed it is. And exactly right, it came from a Radeon bundle. It expires after a while and I just don’t have time to give it the TLC that maybe someone else would want to. Enjoy!

Steam Halloween sale started. The games on sale are generally horror/zombie/ghost/vampire/whatever themed although sometimes loosely. There doesn’t appear to be a daily deal structure, just everything on sale currently.

Thanks for the heads up, SenorBeef. Think I’ll get Orcs Must Die: Game of the Year for US $3.24.

GamersGate is having a Halloween sale as well. One item of note is FEAR Complete Pack for $7.50 including…
FEAR: First Encounter Assault Recon
FEAR 2: Project Origin
FEAR 3

A whole bunch of other stuff as well. I haven’t gone through the whole list.

Also, Hitman: Absolution pre-order sale today only at Amazon:

Hitman: Absolution - $39.99
Hitman: Ab. Premium Edition - $43.99

Walking Dead is $11.99 at Gamefly if you use code BETATHANKS at check-out. Steam activated.

New GMG 25% voucher - GMG25-UAAHK-6AI9S

Doesn’t stack with cash/credit offers (mainly pre-orders) but seems to stack with standard sale prices. Brings Borderlands 2 to $38, Dishonored to $45, etc.

Mount & Blade Collection is $5.62 at GMG with voucher GMG25-UAAHK-6AI9S - Activates on Steam.

Includes base game, Warband and “With Fire & Sword” although Warband’s the real jewel in the crown.

Also, Groupees Bundle
Cryostasis
Manor of the Damned
Blindside
Anna
Post Mortem
Legendary

…for $4. Plus some assorted MP3s.

I’ll continue my proud tradition of spamming this thread

Ghostbusters is on GamersGate on sale for $3.37. The game got pulled from Steam before and I guess is sort of hard to find digitally so GG having it is sort of unique.

You can use code G2PO for a 5% discount. Which ain’t much on $3.37 (comes out to $3.21) but the code also works on Blue Coins if you ever thought about buying them.

Faerie Solitaire is free for a week on Steam (you get to keep the game, but the offer ends in a week).

Go ahead and download it. No one will judge you.

Totally not installing it right now.

EDIT: Okay, I didn’t download it and now I’m about to not play it.

What the hell, right? Free game, I’ll check my balls at the door and try it!

Battlefield 1942 is now free on Origin to celebrate DICE’s 10th anniversary.

BF1942 is still played by a few hundred people, and Desert Combat is probably my favorite game of all time (last time I checked, which was over a year ago, there was still a small active player base) - they’re worth trying.

When you do an actual proper server architecture for games, you can have them survive for over a decade with a small player base because they can actually find each other instead of having games die with hundreds+ of players with retarded matchmaking systems that require people to be looking in the same exact sub-queue at the exact same time for the game to take off. Not to mention there’s always some sort of NAT failure with those damn things…

Gamefly is giving away Bioshock (PC download) for free. No idea on how long the offer lasts.

Played it last night for 30 minutes or so, it has changed none or very little. Still not a terrible looking game but the graphics and interface are of course dated. Didn’t support my monitor resolution (1680x1050) so I had to run 1280x960. Hit detection still seems a little wonky but I remember that from modem days.

I know there’s patches, mods or .ini fixes to help screen resolutions, field of view, depth of field, etc but I haven’t played the game nor looked into any of them.
