Running Sims/Simcity on your computer

Every now and then I like to play the Sims or Simcity.

The problem I have is that when I play them, they take up my entire screen. Not being too savy about this sort of thing, when ever I need to check e-mail, I quit out of the program.

Is there a command or something that will get me to my desk top without having to quit?

I’m on a Mac, if that makes a difference.

Try Command-P to go back to the desktop. (This works on the Sims, I don’t have SimCity)

Use Alt-Tab to switch tasks or to desktop.

Unfortunately, neither of those two are doing anything for Simcity. I haven’t tried the Sims yet.
