Rush 30 DVD: opinions, help?

I just got it for Christmas, thanks to my lovely wife.

Quite a treat! A few old interviews showing questionable yet contemporary fashion choises by the lads, a hilarious 1994 Juno Hall of Fame segment, some old clips that I had never seen, and an all around top notch live show on DVD-1.

Haven’t been able to crack any easter eggs yet, so if you have tips, please post them here.

Anyone else have this DVD? Like it?

[sub](I searched, and there hadn’t been an active Rush thread since mid-2004, when I posted my concert review of their Rotterdam show. A year and a half! A travesty!)[/sub]

Any woman that gives her husband a Rush DVD for any reason needs to be honored, loved and cherished…ADORED!!!

“Lovely” wife is indeed correct! She is obviously irrevocably and hopelessly in love.

As to the OP, I haven’t seen a Rush video since Live in Rio; is this one as good as that? They seem to be still as cool as ever (which is hypercool) and the music is just as great.
You tell us-how is it?

Sadly, I don’t have it yet. But I will shortly. I hope it’s available in town.

Cool! I didn’t know this DVD was out yet. Now I know how I will spend some of the cash I got for Christmas.

If someone could tell us how to find the easter eggs, that would be great. I am never very good at finding them on my own.

Is any of it in 16:9 aspect ratio?

I couldn’t help myself.

I’m not 100% certain of the terminology, always get it mxed up.

But I do believe the 1st DVD (the concert in Germany) is widescreen, which I believe is what you’re asking.

Since I don’t own a widescreen TV, I’m not 100% sure.

Also, the website lists a hint about easter eggs: “Dates, think about the dates”.

I also received it for Christmas, but I haven’t gotten farther than the first disk. I think the concert footage is great, but it is very similar to the Rush in Rio show. The clear novelties really are the cover songs, a slight reworking of the drum solo, Jerry Stiller, a great medley at the beginning, and “Between the Wheels.” Also, danke shoen. These aren’t the only differences, but the overall impression is very similar. It’s still great, and you’ll want to see it if you’re a fan.

Why oh why do they not perform “Peaceable Kingdom!”

And yes, Sam Stone, the concert is in 16:9 ratio.

Disc 2: At the menu with ‘Interviews’ and ‘The Anthem Vault’ press the right button 3 times to enable a new menu item, ‘Rush Hits St. John’s’

It’s just documentary footage from the Power Windows tour, apparently there was a petition to get Rush to play in St. John’s Bay or something.

Disc 2, from the main menu select ‘Interviews’, then at that menu press right until you highlight ‘The Anthem Vault One’. Press right 3 more times, and the silhouette figure on the left becomes ‘Alex’s Interview For Artist Of The Decade’.
