I discovered Rush in grade 9 in high school, and in a very roundabout way.
In English class, we had to present a project in which we analyzed the meaning of some song, poem or other short work we picked for ourselves. I’ve long forgotten what I did (and indeed most of the others - who remembers their grade 9 projects?), but I remember one girl gave an amazing presentation based on - Rush’s Hemispheres.
I thought it was so interesting (a rarity for high school at the time) that I searched out the band.
