I’m actually going to bet (in the lame sense that involves no actual money) that Limbaugh backs this one out somehow; too many people who he (and his audience) would grant credit to (mainly evangelical Christian missionaries) can speak with some authority about what horrible people the LRA are. I’ve never listened to him for more than a minute or two at a time, and probably not more than 15 minutes total. Has he ever back-tracked on anything, or does he just move on to something else?
Did he make a big deal about this on his radio show? If not, then he can just sort of pretend it was some side issue on his web site of no real import.

When it comes to the Obama-haters, there’s just no bottom to the stupidity. Some of the extremist Bush-haters could be pretty stupid themselves at times with hysterically exaggerated comparisons of Bush to Hitler and stuff like that, but at least they were reasonably grounded in reality on the fundamental issues of who he was and what he wanted.
The extremist Obama-haters might just as well be claiming that Obama is actually Count Dracula attempting to turn the whole nation into vampires for all the sense they make about him.

Dude, this isn’t about Rush’s lies. It’s about people can either buy into the program or not. Rush can’t make you do anything. If you accept Rush’s pronouncement’s–congratulations, you’ve made a choice!
Was it a good choice? A bad choice? Time will tell; as well as your ability to learn from it.
Hopefully, I hope you’ll understand that I’m pointing out choices we make and that Rush’s ideology is only a means to an end. I’ll be the first to admit, that not for the first time, I’ve had difficulty getting my main point across on this message board.

Really, the fact that he’s legally untouchable for his speech means that those who oppose him must exert their opposition via more speech. You can’t just leave Limbaugh or whoever’s peddling bullshit alone and assume the truth will eventually out. They’ve got to be called on it, even if only to try to persuade the audience away.

I’m quite glad he has acknowledged this, since for years on the SDMB whenever people have said ridiculous stuff like “if there are ordinary decent Muslims then why aren’t they apologising for [latest Islamist outrage]?” I’ve asked in return whether ordinary decent Christians have apologised for the LRA yet.
