Rush Limbaugh: "When women got the right to vote is when it all went downhill "

A quick google got a bunch of responses (here’s one):
“If we took away women’s right to vote, we’d never have to worry about another Democrat [sic] president. It’s kind of a pipe dream, it’s a personal fantasy of mine, but I don’t think it’s going to happen.”
Certainly not straight married ones interested in having sex with their wives again.

They were not able to make money off their abilities. As far as I know.

My personal fave:

"I think [women] should be armed but should not [be allowed to] vote. No, they all have to give up their vote, not just, you know, the lady clapping and me. The problem with women voting — and your Communists will back me up on this — is that, you know, women have no capacity to understand how money is earned. They have a lot of ideas on how to spend it. And when they take these polls, it’s always more money on education, more money on child care, more money on day care.”

Putting aside the woman thing, Limbaugh thinks the country has been going down hill since 1919?

This is actually one of the least offensive things Rush has said about women.

No, but in my memory they were all even more adept than Big Rush Limbaugh is at reading their target audience and then carefully crafting perfectly worded statements, expertly calculated to get the biggest possible rise out of them.

(I recall Ceasario patiently explaining to his rapt Doper audience that only a vile, perverted sicko would actually want to have sexual intercourse with 6 year-old girls, and all HE ever wanted to do was just to lovingly perform cunnilingus on them…)

January 12, 1951 appears to have been a step down, surely. Perhaps he thinks all that other stuff doesn’t make up for it?

Restricting people voting is a common conservative motif along with being anti-woman in general.

John Derbyshire of The National Review has made similar comments about women voting.

John… John… I love your books that aren’t about politics, but as a political commentator, I wish you’d just shut up.

But they couldn’t sustain it over a multi-decade career.

Obvious attention whore, seeks attention. Says something shocking, lamely half apologizes, only kidding!

Who listens to this ass?

SDMB history, esp. the citing of the names of banned members, is not to the point here. We’re talking about a paid member of the media with a public audience, not three people who posted on a limited-readership message board and have been banned for what they said in those postings.

Stay on topic, MPB in Salt Lake, and stop trying to stir up shit. You’re on your last chance – your next warning will result in your own ban.

I do my best not to. Thanks, BrainGlutton.

Well it’s nice to hear that Ann Coulter admits she has no idea how money is earned, anyways.

I’m sure that any money she makes goes directly to her daddy. Or husband. Or someone male.
Wait…are we SURE she’s female? :dubious:

Ok, I’ll withdraw my skepticism. That lady’s freakin’ nuts!

Might want to put your helmet on.

Uh oh…what can of worms did I open? I tend to avoid politically bombastic threads so I probably missed something…

Anne Coulter’s Adam’s apple.
