Russia has invaded Ukraine. How will the West respond?

Ukes? Really??

Whatever. When Russia is adequately crushed it’ll have to stop propping up the rebels and the Western looking leaders of Ukraine will reassert control and we can all move forward.

Well, if enough of them get sent to do some forced labor, I’m sure the rest will go home and fall into line.

I’m sure a few good beatings of some of the leaders would do no harm, as well.

It appears you communists haven’t learned anything from your previous failure and are ready to step up and fail again.

CBS news just reported a 50% decline in the value of the Russian Ruble. People are making runs on the banks, and buying large appliances (refrigerators, etc.) which will hold value over time.

Here’s a link to an ABC news story.

Oh, great. A large country with a significant military that is now in economic collapse. What could possibly go wrong?

Well, Gennady Zyuganov is waiting in the wings. The more things go wrong, the better his chances get.

What term would you prefer I use?

Lol. The guy is 70 years old. Id say things better go bad pretty fast if you want your senile old commie running things for long.

I.e. a year older than Reagan in 1980, a year older than Hillary Clinton will be in two years, and three years older than Elizabeth Warren would be if she decides to run against Clinton.

Anyway, it’s the party that matters, not a man. Zyuganov’s voters don’t vote for him because of personal charisma.

International communism has always hated the ukulele.

Reagan is a great example. Senile in office but hey he lines up with my politics so he’s awesome. Just like you and this relic.luckily you don’t have to live with the results if your dream comes true. That’s the schlubs in Russia’s problem.

Hi,

I personally would prefer to see the Ukranians referred to using the correct english noun.

If St Clare was/is your surname how happy are you to be described as a “Frog”?

Take care

It’s the instrument of choice of the bourgeoise.

The surfeoise? The Kiev Kahunas?

My apologies. I’ll watch my language hence forth.

This is pretty much irrelevant. Putin remains wildly popular. He has established himself, in the views of most Russians, as the man who will re-establish the glory of Mother Russia in such a way that no fiscal or diplomatic crisis is ever perceived as being his fault.

They’re Russian speaking in Odessa, and no anti-government protests of note (the noteable Odessa protest was the one in which 50 or so pro-Russians were burned to death). The anti-government protests were mostly in Western Ukraine and Kiev. Not that they ever had their own government in Ukraine, since all leaders have been self-serving corrupt bastards to the bone. Ukranians react to that with rightful protests and demonstrations, Russians react with apathy and disillusion which eventually flame up into these more deadly conflicts you see now. But Russia lost the ball, they’ll not gain control over Eastern Ukraine and Ukraine will slowly turn to the West - provided the West does not loose the ball either and refuse to aid Ukraine with generous amount of money and expertise.
