There is a russian icon, a painting allegedly by Saint Luke and blessed by the Virgin Mary, that was spirited out of Russia during WWII and recently returned. It is supposedly known as the miracle icon, but there seem to be many of them in the Russian Orthodox Church. I can find nothing about this by googleing. Can anyone help me?
I want to suggest the Vladimir Mother of God icon, but I don’t think thats it. Your post has stirred my memory, and hopefully I will remember it and will post as soon as I do.
