The directors of the firm hired to continue the investigations after the other people had been investigated, wish it to be known that they have just been investigated. The investigations have been completed in an entirely different style at great expense and at the last minute.
(Okay, I could have helped myself. But I chose not to.)
It would be funny if Comey turns into the Left’s Oliver North, a man called upon to defend his honor and does so with such perceived sincerity that he damages the credibility of those who called him to the stand.
Yay! Republicans losing their minds about a Clinton again! (As if it ever stopped.) I can’t wait to see which Republican stoops lower or dumber. I suggest a collective effort- I even have a motto for them to use, free of charge:
Republicans: None of us is as dumb as all of us!
I lost all respect for Ryan long ago. At one time he seemed to have some promise as a politician who actually respected ideas. But that respect has become revulsion.
And money. Don’t forget the money this is costing us. Next time you hear some piece of shit Republican going on about how America is too poor to provide healthcare or education funding or Head Start or social security - don’t forget how they always have millions to burn on stupid political stunts like this.
I think Ryan is playing this the only way he can especially how he is going to come out of 2016 as leader of the Republican Party. I think the goal is not to find out why she wasn’t indicted but to make here look like an idiot. Let’s face it, Lynch committing to following the FBI’s recommendation, meeting with Bill then the FBI not bringing charges looks really bad. Now if the Pubs can get some soundbites from the FBI about the stupid things she did as SoS then Ryan can at least tell the RNC that he did his best to salvage the 2016 election.
AG Lynch declared case closed tonight. It’s all over. Except for the Republicans that is.
If those Clintons are so good at rigging things, they’d have arranged for some clown to win the Republican nomination and have an open door to the White House in November.
Yep, and don’t forget the possibility that Bill orchestrated the whole comedy by setting up the meeting on the plane with Lynch, in order to short-circuit the Republicans’ options.
Going after Comey is going to cost them votes, and yet they still can’t help themselves.
The last time Republicans investigated the Clintons they ended up losing their House Speaker (Newt), his replacement (Livingston), and seats in the House. History may well repeat itself.
I have a question that is only tangentially related to the specific topic of this thread. Here is the background:
I live in Wisconsin. Yes, have pity on me because I have to suffer with both Scott Walker and Paul Ryan.
Anyway, Ryan was once a Republican I thought I might be able to respect even though I have voted Democrat since 1972 (well, there was 1980 when I actually voted for the third party candidate John Anderson, but we’ll ignore that for now). Ryan seemed intelligent and principled, though perhaps misguided in some of his beliefs.
I feel moved to write to Ryan and express my disgust with his actions of putting party politics ahead of what is good for the country. However, I feel like if he knew my voting pattern he would simply dismiss my opinion as partisan. If he felt I was a potential vote that he was losing he might consider the opinion as a bit more important.
Question: So, is there any way that Ryan could determine how I’ve voted in the past? I’ve contributed to Democratic candidates in the past so even though I suspect they can’t actually “know” how I’ve voted they could infer my allegiance? I am registered as Independent.
