Comey is just being very clear and direct with his answers and refusing to be drawn in to speculation or making conclusions not part of his investigation.
Chaffetz has worked it hard. Not so casually bringing up whether the Clinton Foundation is part of this or any other investigation. Comey:“I’m not going to answer that”. Chaffetz might have scored some points with hammering on why Hillary asking her lawyers to review her emails wasn’t a blatant violation.
Eta: despite what some here hoped though, didn’t see a lot of soundbites that Hillary will be in any rush to use.
He tied enough knots in Chaffetz’s tail to qualify as macramé.

That last line I translate thus: "I will show all people how dumb I’m by ignoring what you already told us, you did drop a ton of bricks already on my talking point here because on those cases I mentioned there actually was no sophisticated attract here by hackers, so clearly there is less evidence then that the server being discussed was hacked by these “top” British hackers that we are making hay with…
I’m a little surprised they shot their load so quick, frankly. Instead of an “emergency session” they shoukd have drawn it out. Set the questioning for a week or so away. Basically they plopped the follow up into the same newscycle. Sad!
There was a great rush to make fools of themselves before someone beat them to it.
My final take on today’s hearing. This “emergency hearing” was a total waste of time. All it did was make Comey look like a well organized, sincere and honest public servant who, along with his staff, did their best in this investigation and resolving the matter.
I was very impressed, too. Certainly the example we saw today–of a registered Republican I can respect–will deter any overly-hasty generalizations about “Republicans” I might otherwise be tempted to offer.*
As I said in another thread: if the GOP delegates were truly courageous, they’d buck the hopes and dreams of their most racist/authoritarian voters and dump the clown–then nominate Comey, instead. He’s formidable.
*On the other hand, most of the GOP Representatives who spoke today only enforced the negative generalizations.

He’s just a normal registered Republican so he can afford to be a decent, respectable person. All those other yahoos are elected and too scared of alienating the looney right and losing their seat in Congress to have any real principles they believe are worth defending.
No, he’s Hillary/Obama’s lapdog, or he would have recommended an indictment! They got to him, probably by threatening his family, or offering him a cushy job in the Clinton Global Initiative. He’s a RINO!
