Ryan O'Neal Deathwatch

Was surprised to hear that Ryan O’Neal has been told he needs a bone marrow transplant within 48 hours if he’s to survive - I hadn’t heard about his battle with leukemia

Just thought I’d pass on the news.

Well, he was at the Oscars. IANAD, but I don’t believe someone goes to a gala event, or even gets out of bed, if they’re in need of a transplant or have just received one. Hoax? (Not on your part, cazzle, but ananova’s.)

I have to agree with Rilchiam, although the man is not aging well, he didn’t look like he’s fighting cancer. If he hadn’t been introducedm I would not have recognized him as Ryan O’Neal (and, of course, would have been mistaken if I’d recognized him as someone else).

If I looked that good 48 hours before my death, I would assume that I was dying an accidental death.

But he is ill and he does need a bone marrow transplant and stories indicate that his brother, who is a match, is too ill to give him any also.

Yeah, I’ve mentioned elsewhere that I’ve seen people speculating that the news was “leaked” to get him an Oscars ovation. Perhaps that’s a little too cynical, but it does seem coincidental that news of his impending death was followed so closely by the Oscars.
