I realize this is probably too specific a question for GQ, but I’m not getting any good info from the main tech forum I hang out at.
I have an nf7-s motherboard with a silicon image 3112a serial ATA controller, along with 2 abit serilell (p-ata to s-ata) converters.
I’m trying to get 2 75GXP 30 gig IBM drives to work on the serial channels, but I can’t. I have the connectors all physically hooked up, but I can’t get the drives to recognize.
I’ve tried various jumper settings - most importantly device 0 master and no jumpers - and always get ‘do drive found’.
Does anyone have any similar experience with a setup like this? Any ideas as to what I can try to get it working correctly?
