sad state of marine corp boot camp

I was banned for life on leatherneck.com for telling them what I think of marine corp boot camp comparing when I went in june 1964 with now. Marinesgraduating are saying it was easy and the pt was nothing bard etc. A far cry from when I was in it was tough .the drill instructers were hard on the non hackers some going to fatbody platoon where all they did wasrunand do pt. Whats this country coming to .they have turned bootcamp into a summer camp. Its almost fifty yrs ago and I can still do 7 chinups rest in peace staffsgt buduhn.

Pussy.

I bet you’re the kind of guy that would fuck a person in the ass and not even have the goddamn common courtesy to give him a reach-around. I’ll be watching you.

You think he’ll get the reference?

He may be the reference.

Toof you failed your intelligence test with that reference to the movie full metal jacket. It has nothing to do with my post so keep on being the stupld son ot abitch your are and see who else you can lmpress.

Granting your experience that Marine Corps basic training was different fifty years ago, how do we know it was better?

Well, if a Marine lived 50 years after bootcamp they musta been doing something right back then

I’m just wondering…I bet he is from Texas and I don’t see any horns on him.

But, seriously. I think it is entirely possible he has a point. Though I have no idea how true or untrue the statement is.

Stave,

What were the things you found most difficult when you underwent Marine Corps bootcamp? Please tell us how it was.

Sorry, I missed it… Why did you get banned again?

Because he went there to complain about the last message board he was banned from, probably.

Well, let’s make a quick comparison:

1964 - draftees who don’t want to be there.
2013 - volunteers who want a slot in the Corps.

1964 - kids with no concept of nutrition, exercise, or health
2013 - you get a chart with a workout schedule, and your recruiter works with you to make sure that you are ready for boot. You have been working out through high school in hopes of getting a slot, and the need for a six pack is part of dating on Facebook.

1964 - you could 'kip your way through the chin ups.
2013 - full length pull ups only (20 is the number to hit - 7 gets you tossed out)

And chin ups don’t really even compare to pull ups. Pull ups are much more challenging than chins.

I thought we went over this and only the Army and Navy take draftees?

We were pushed to our physical limets. In the beginning we were kept up for 2 days we were reduced to zero and rebuilt to marine corp specs.you could be choked punched if you made a mistake. The weakest were singled out and given special attention. It was the old corps.nobody who was in my platoon in bootcamp would’ve said it was easy. But now they are allowed cell phones computers.and they come out saying it was easy and the pt was nothing.the whole idea is to getrid or the nonhackers and they aren’t doing it.

Marine corps has always been a volinteer force except late in67 they did take some army draftees.pullups are harder of course I could do 12 inbootcamp but im 67with torn cartiledgein my left shoulder so chinups are what I can do. In todays bootcamp they only have to do 3.there out ot shape when they’ go in and stillnot in shape when they graduate.
