For the nastier side of S&M (ie throwing the ol’ SSC dogma out the window), you could do worse than the infamous Whitehouse - example songs: Dom, Rapemaster, and their epic based on the last part of 120 Days of Sodom. To quote an old review of another band, they’re not so much Tortured artists as Torture artists. Lots of industrial bands have played around with S&M themes, but Whitehouse take it further than anyone else.
From the sublime to the ridiculous, Alice Cooper’s Poison is another hit with strong S&M overtones.
Has anyone heard a good description of what Leonard Cohen’s Master Song is about?
