SafeLinke Cell Phone

My mother recently qualified for a free cell phone from Safelink, and I have some questions. The help number keeps me on hold forever so I figured I’d ask here to see if anyone else may have had similar experiences.

OK she’s very low income now so she got the phone from Safelink

The question is how to activate the voicemail or even if the free version has it.

I was told by the 800 number and it’s on the website. Here’s the directions from the site

So I enter 1 and instead of directions I get a message saying voicemail server not set up.

I go into the options and find messages -> Voice Mail Servers -> And it says “Empty”

It appears there are none. There is no other option or menu key at that point. It won’t allow me to enter anything so I assume some sort of number should be there but it isn’t.

So long story short, if anyone else has this free cell phone service, and can give me a heads up I’d appreciate it.

Since it’s free and only for her emergencies (You get two hours a month), I don’t really care about the VM but it kind of bugs me when I can’t figure something out.
