sample poll - what's your favourite colour - practice your voting skills here!

Since we will soon be voting on smilies, this poll was created to practice the vBulletin polling feature. This will be a multiple-choice poll, which will also be the method we will use for the smiley election. So without any further ado, here it is:
Aside from black and white, which is your favorite colour?

GO, BLUE, GO!!!

GO, GREY, GO!!!

and it’s red and blue in the lead!

Do you REALIZE how wrong and discombobulating it is that, in the poll, red is represented by red, but yellow is represented by blue and green is yellow??

And they said that the butterfly ballot was confusing

I demand a recount.

None of my colors correspond except red.

Yellow is blue.
Green is orange.
Blue is magenta.
Pink is aqua.
Brown is green.
Purple is red.
Orange is blue.
Grey is orange.
I hate all colors is magenta.

Is this a trick question?

There is a minor problem with the number of “total votes”.

I looked at the results before I voted, and “total votes” was 24. I checked off red, pink and purple and voted.

The count for each individual color was correctly increased, but “total votes” was now 14.

I have saved the pages if anyone’s interested.

No ultraviolet?
No infrared?
No plaid?

I think it tallies total voters, not total votes

What’s to stop somebody from voting multiple times?

I think I’ll vote again to see.

Ah, it won’t let you. I wonder is this by computer or by user.

That’s right, I’m trying to fix this election. Go purple!

After I voted, the total tally said there had been 17 votes, but when I added the individual tallies myself there seemed to have been 30 votes.

Biggirl… I’m looking at you.

rowrrbazzle, White Lightning - I think that what Big Kahuna Burger says is correct, the number shown at the bottom of the poll is total voters, not total votes.
rowrrbazzle, are you saying that the number displayed at the bottom of the results screen changed from 24 to 14 after you voted? That would indeed be puzzling.

Why did you choose that order of colors? Personally, I like to go with a rainbow order when I can. Red, yellow, green, blue is SO wrong!

Biggirl - it’s one vote per SDMB registered username.
Lynn Bodoni - I copied that list out of another thread discussing colour names. So the order can be blamed on another poster.

Yo, Arnie, you got the wrong kind of poll. That’s not a multiple choice poll–you can vote for more than one “candidate”. (I just voted for all the choices, and it incremented all of them by one vote.)

You never designed ballots in West Palm Beach, did you?

BLUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUE!

[sub]In other words, yet another pointless post.[/sub]

MEBuckner - are you saying I used the wrong term? What do you call a poll where you can vote for more than one candidate? Isn’t multiple choice an acceptable expression?

Somehow I was under impression that this was supposed to be a poll where you can only vote for one candidate.

[Emily Litella]Never mind…[/Emily Litella]

The approval voting thing seems to work nicely: I wanted to vote against brown, so I voted for everything else.
