San Jose area folks: radio question

Arbitron has sent me a survey to fill. Unfortunately, what with one thing and another (sick, and listening to KCSM-FM on 91.1 instead of any commercial stations), I can only send them an answer they don’t want. Ie, I’m sure Arbitron is all about listener market share and commercials.

So does anyone in the South Bay Area/Peninsula/East Bay have any programs that Arbitron should hear about?

Ideally this would be the kind of worth-while program that humans actually like, that are thin enough in listener support that the given station is likely to pull off the stimulating program and replace it with C&W off the satellite feed. Thin listener support basically means the listeners don’t massively buy into the commercials.

So the temptation to score one for the humans has overcome me. I need real programs that aired from Thursday, 9/22 through Wednesday, 9/28, with [ul]
[li]time they were on the air, []call letters/dial setting/station name/or even program name, []AM or FM, & I’ll put in home/car/work/other. [/ul][/li]
It has to be available in or near San Jose.

And for those who object to fibbing to the detriment of science, please don’t beat me up too hard! You don’t get a chance like this very often!

shrug Out of the 9 presets that are commercial radio the only radio show that’s actually a show that I know of is Loveline and that’s not in danger of disappearing any time soon ( I hope ). Everything else is just 24 hours of machinized playlists and annoying DJs…
I’ll give you $20 if you can make Greg Kihn go away forever though

Tell 'em last Saturday, 9/24, from 7 to 10pm you listened to KLIV 1590.

<Geek alert>

That was when the local soccer team, the San Jose Earthquakes, were on the air, playing against Dallas. The team has been in danger of moving to Houston and every little note of local support will help to keep them here.

Thanks, guys!

groman, what would be the station and time of broadcast etc (see OP)?

OK, Airblairxxx, we’ll get in the plug.

Oh, groman, the magic powers don’t extend to actually getting rid of crap, unfortunately. If only.

I want more!!!

I would think arbitron would like to know the percentage of non-commercial listeners and non-listeners too.

They must allow for a statistical margin of error there. Besides, I don’t think they are doing pure science as much as giving numbers to manage advertising dollars among stations that take advertising.

Drat, if I could make stuff go away, that double post would vanish.

Now I want two double posts to vanish. Forget that, more radio!!!

Last chance to put in a plug for what you like, I gotta mail this thing.

Do we want to report 16 hours a day of 91.1? Let’s give them something more!
