Sanders told to leave restaurant - why no debate?

I hope that it’s true that everyone else thinks that making up a very unpleasant argument and explicitly attaching my name to it is not saying it’s my argument.

At any rate, I’ve refuted it well enough and I can reasonably hope that anyone who reads the post in question also reads the following posts.

Indeed.

Let’s leave this side track for another thread, shall we?

Back to Sanders and the Red Hen.

What right is that? I run a business and I’ve never known that people have a right to be served. If they did, it would fly in the face of my right to not serve them.
Over the years I’ve refused service to a handful of people for being assholes. On average, about half of them refuse to leave and the cops have be be called. Never, not one single time, have the police given a second thought to escorting them out. In fact, I’m always surprised when I tell someone that if they don’t leave I’ll call the police and they double down by finding a place to stand and saying ‘go ahead, call them’.
TL;DR, could you point me to something that says people have a right to be served or that businesses are not allowed to refuse service (for something other than protected class reasons)?

I certainly hope you’re giving the same warning to other posters who have crossed the line, such as the poster I was responding to.

Hmm. Something to consider.

Touché.

I hope you get a warning for insulting other posters.

That may well be, but Sarah Sanders was not being an asshole on this day at this restaurant. By all accounts proceedings on both sides were handled politely. My point is that there was nothing in her manner as a customer at that moment that warranted being kicked out of a restaurant. Would you want to be refused service because of your political beliefs as opposed to something you actually did?

OMFG, it’s not about her “political beliefs.” She is a lying mouthpiece for an incompetent, unethical, unqualified, obnoxious, dangerous embarrassment. That qualifies as some thing “she actually did.”

You stated that people have a right to be served. I’m asking you to back that up. Can you point me to that right?

Of course not, but a business owner (in most jurisdictions) can still do that, with the law on their side.
So, I’ll ask you again. You said “even assholes have a right to be served”. Can you show me that right?
I can refuse to serve you because you’re a republican or an asshole or drive a Toyota. What you’re saying directly contradicts that.

Maxine Waters called for more of the same. She’s had to cancelled events because of credible death threats.
Now back to your regular “BOTH SIDES ARE HORRIBLE!”

OMFG, you really need to learn what Discrimination is and why it’s against the law. The right to refuse service because you just don’t like someone is effectively no different than racism. I’m amazed that you can’t see that.

No, that’s extremely different from racism. If I don’t like my neighbor because he’s a liar and an asshole, and don’t invite him to my party because of that, that’s extremely different from not liking a neighbor because they’re black, and not inviting them to my party due to their race.

No one is discriminating against Sanders for being a Republican. She was refused service for her personal, frequently demonstrated, hostility and lack of integrity. This is a decision against an individual, not a class of people.

I am amazed that you cannot see that.

3rd request for a cite.

You can say that all day but it doesn’t make it true.

Wow. Going on 18 hours. Miller must be crafting a mighty fine apology. Have the roses arrived?

This is not a neighbor. It’s a paying customer.

…hey Biffster! Do you know what an analogy is?

That’s actually pretty funny.

Yes. Your point? Comparing Sanders to a neighbor at a party is a pretty piss poor analogy. Are all customers basically your neighbors?
