Just saw Sideways the other night and loved her in it. And she is the only reason to watch the treacley dreck that is Under the Tuscan Sun.
I wonder though, much as I love her and want her babies if she really can carry a meatier role, or if she’s just awesome at taking a smaller part and giving it life and dimension.
She was tremendous in Sideways. I think she’s prettier without glasses. (I agree the IMDB photo is horrid.) I also heard her do an interview with Fresh Air and she’s really thoughtful about her craft. Hopefully the buzz around Sideways will bring her some more attention.
She’s nekkid in Dancing at the Blue Iguana, which is really really awful film except for the nekkid parts. You may not love her more, but you’ll see more of her to love. Or something.
I love Sandra Oh! She’s amazing. She played Evelyn Lau in a TV version of Lau’s memoirs of being a prostitute and street kid poetess and she was awesome. That was one of my favourite books as a teen and Sandra Oh did not let me down.
I noticed she was especially adorable in Sideways and I thought maybe that’s because her husband was the director and he made me see her the way he does or something. I think she’s just gorgeous. She’s very versatile. I think pretty highly of her. If I see she’s in something I am more likely to check it out. I noticed she is in Rick which is the movie written by Daniel Handler (Lemony Snicket) that I have been dying to see. So I’m looking forward to it extra!
I found it refreshing that in Sideways, her ethnicity was never made an issue. Her mother in the film was white and her daughter appeared to be part African-American.
Sandra Oh actually made “Arlis$” tolerable. Well, mostly tolerable.
