Sangria.

I had a bunch of fruit that was at the “use it or lose it” stage. So I used it.

Apples
oranges
grapefruit
peaches
plums
champagne grapes

I made a huge fruit salad, but after eating some and storing some, there were still about 2 cups left over. There was a bottle of cheap sangria in the cabinet, so I dumped it all in a pitcher and added a big splash of marsala. Refrigerated for a day, and boy did that turn out yummy.

Tried some of the apple, though, and yikes! Even more alcohol in there than I expected, and inedible.

At a 4th of July party last summer I stood in the kitchen chatting with people and eating the fruit out of the bottom of the sangria bowl, because it was so delicious.

You ain’t kidding about the alcohol! Apples really soak it up.
