Santorum and his allies are after power. They don’t care what they have to say or do, in order to get power. They will lie, fuck their own party members, fuck their own voters, and will feel good about doing it. All they care about is getting/staying in office and increasing their own power, and hang the cost. Seen in that light, Santorum has no business likening anyone else to a Nazi. Comparing those two quotes above, are just another illustration of what sort of hypocrite he is.
Someone on this bb said once that the Reps are the “party before country” party.
I would like to amend that to : power before party before country.
And when will America wake up?
Very concise, SteveG1. That is something that always infuriates me about debating about politic. I might be attempting for the 85[sub]th[/sub] time about how the recent rulings of gay rights have in fact been following a reasonable reading of the constitution/state constitution, and all the while, I feel like screaming out what a bunch of selfish dickheads their leaders are, but instead, I feel the need to match them point for point via legitimate issues, rather then point out that if they actually believe the nonsense spewed out by the creatures they worship, they can’t be all that worthy of respect.
Sorry, but according to Mr. Moto, we’re not allowed to say anything that’s not all sunshine and happiness about the troglodyte, gay-hating, freedom-loathing Senator from Pennsylvania.
The day Santorum dies, the party is at my place.
And like when Esprix, I, and others partied at Thurmond’s death, be prepared for MAJOR criticism from Moto and the other cretins masquerading as Republicans.
First of all- “Godwins law” simply states that as a thread gets longer and longer, the chance of a poster comparing another poster to a nazi increases to certainty- it says nothing about “winners”.
Next- “Godwins law” is no more a rule of debate or logical argument than Murphey’s law is.
To which I reply: Meh.
Italians partied when Moussolini died. I see no substantive difference between Santorum and the old el Duce, except for control over an armed forces.
Santorum is one of the few people whose election to the presidency (or even vice presidency) would instantly drive me to leave this country forever. The man wouldn’t shed a tear if every homosexual in the country were rounded up and shot through the head. He’s absolute evil. His death will someday make the world a much better place.
With all due respect, spectrum, when it comes to rude, uncivil, threatening, crass, and hyperbolic behavior and rhetoric in political discourse, you’re not the best person to complain.
I don’t disagree with you.
In fact, let me offer to bring a case of champagne and the pate.
That is a plus one invitation?
For fuck’s sake, Moto, this is the fucking Pit. What part of this do you not understand, hmmmm? If you went around complaing about how you, personally, felt a person had no place to complain, in the pit alown, you would never have any sleep.
With no respect whatsoever, when it comes to dishonest partisan bullshit you are the least likely to own up to it and the first to point fingers at others.
I’m the most polite person you’ve ever met. In person. On the board, under the veil of anonymity, I see no reason to lie about my interest in dancing on Santorum’s grave. Maybe dig him up and toss his bones to some dogs. Except that would be a horrible thing to do to dogs.
Not knowing you in person, how could I possibly know that?
All I know of you is what you have shown me here, which is an angry man with some unfortunate outbursts of his own.
And you’re a snivelling sycophant who licks the boots of the most evil men in America – in fact, probably the most evil men in American history.
The reason that I mentioned how Sen. Santorum is linked to anal froth was not just idle slamming of the gentleman from Pennsylvania. The reason that the leaking anal goo was named for the distinguished solon was because of his prior stupid remarks about “man on dog sex” and the like in the debates about homosexual sodomy surrounding the Lawrence v. Texas Supreme Court case.
I thought a reference to the result of the earlier idocy the fellow has spouted was relevant to this round.
Sorry the result of good dirty fun bothers you so.
Hey, it’s your argument. You make it as you wish.
You have mine in reply, though, and my reasons why I thought that one interjection weakened your case somewhat.
I think the only honest thing Mr. Moto has said in this thread was to refer to Santorum as a disgusting sexual by-product.
First of all- while it’s true that losing the argument is not part of the actual law there is a tradition that it is. (Kind of like English Common Law I guess . ) So I’d say Billdo’s OP was accurate.
Next- it may not be a rule of debate or logic (though I think it could be called a form of Ad Hominem), but it’s an accurate obsevation…that is, if you resort to overheated rehtoric as opposed to the merits of your position you deserve to lose the debate.
A gentle reminder. Never mind that Santorum is a vile, borderline fascist, police state, theocratic kind of guy, who think Big Brother should be in everyone’s bedroom and wants to shove his flawed version of religion down everyone’s throat. The argument is supposed to be his lame attempt to Godwinize.
What the Democrats are doing is “the equivalent of Adolf Hitler in 1942 saying, ‘I’m in Paris. How dare you invade me. How dare you bomb my city? It’s mine.’ This is no more the rule of the Senate than it was the rule of the Senate before not to filibuster.” --Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA), May 19, 2005
“Senator Byrd’s inappropriate remarks comparing his Republican colleagues with Nazis are inexcusable. These comments lessen the credibility of the senator and the decorum of the Senate. He should retract his statement and ask for pardon.” --Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA), March 2, 2005
I’ll also point out that Byrd compared the Republican political machinations with Nazi political machinations; Santorum compared Democratic political machinations with Nazi war crimes. While neither politician wins the Level Head of the Year Award, Santorum edges Byrd out for the winner of the Most Disgusting Hyperbole prize.
