As a straight guy, I have to ask – Is a byproduct of anal sex literate?

Actually, that’s the exact wording that Savage used (and always uses, AFAIK) when defining the term.

Nope, Gov, you and me both. As a liberal, I’m wondering if there’s some etymological connection there, though.
It is about the Senator aka that frothy mixture of fecal matter and lube that is sometimes the byproduct of anal sex. They’re one in the same.
To enlighten:
Dan Savage, columnist on matters sexual, took issue with the Senator. He requested that readers come up with another use for the Senator’s name. The winning entry was:
santorum - that frothy mixture of fecal matter and lube that is sometimes the byproduct of anal sex.
Savage has been waging a campaign to get the term into general use.
If Dan Savage wanted to get the term into general usage, he really should have chosen a less obcure definition. The subject of frothy poop ‘n’ lube just doesn’t get into most people’s conversation very often.
Well, remember that Savage took issue with the senator because of his comments about homosexuality. The gay community probably has a little more experience with anal sex than the straight community.
