that’s funny, hahaha, Sean Hannity, but he represents journalists and when they come for the journalists it will not be funny.
He’s not a journalist, and no one will come for him because he’s with the Nazis, and it was a joke.
I’m OK with that.
I’m going to have to agree to disagree with my critics. I won’t refuse to treat somebody because of their views. You can take the high road without being complicit. I don’t turn away patients who are rabidly pro-Trump because I believe everybody deserves quality health care. That said, I will call people out for opinions I disagree with and they are free to change doctors. I certainly wouldn’t let pro-Trump literature be disseminated in my waiting room. Maybe I am too naive but resistance can take many forms.
I certainly believe your approach is a sophisticated one and would be quite effective. I’m more of a ‘punch em in the gut’ person. I would have served her and then halfway thru her meal told her, “hey several my staff are immigrants and they don’t understand English very well, but they do recognize you, so I’m hoping your meal tastes… right”.
I think there’s a wide gulf between random powerless schmoes who approve of Trump and actual members of the Trump administration. I agree that it’s going too far to refuse to do business with the former, but I think everyone should refuse to do business with the latter until they get the message that they’re evil fucks.
Maybe the restaurant owner could have told her that she works hard to provide wholesome food, and while she wouldn’t have done anything to what SHS ordered, she cannot watch every single step of every dish being made, and that in the interest of safety and her restruant’s reputation, she cannot afford the risk. A perfectly nice German restaurant in my neighborhood closed because some neo-Nazis decided to have their Hitler’s birthday dinner there.
This is the woman who says Democrats support “open borders and rampant crime”? I think I can meet her level of civility.
Who are these “they” who would be coming for Hannity?
Probably lawyers.
Sean Hannity is not a journalist, he’s an entertainer. If he did “represent journalists” that would be a black mark for journalists.
In Putin’s Russia, Hannity comes for them!
It’s a popular tactic amongst the right-wing to portray any action they don’t like as being disrespectful to current and former members of the armed forces. Kneeling during the anthem? You hate veterans! Not allowing us to force kids to pray in school? You hate the troops! Saying mean things about Trump? WHY OH WHY DO DEMOCRATS HATE THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO ARE PROTECTING OUR FREEDOMS FROM EVIL MUSLIM TERRORISTS?
Personally I find this behavior far more disrespectful to the troops/veterans than anything the Democrats have done. Why not just dig up their bodies and literally hide behind them while you’re at it - it’s what you’re doing metaphorically anyway.
Whenever I run into one of these folks, I ask a quick question.
“What was your MOS?”
It occurs to me that her statement could actually be true. She claimed to be doing “her best” - maybe being a petty, spiteful liar is the best she is capable of.
As an updated twist on Paul Harvey’s If I Were the Devil, here is what I would do if I were SHS. I would wait until the summer is almost over and midterms are closer. I would go to a park with my children. Three others who are all in on it would be there. We’d have a makeshift cart set up where yogurt or some other treat is purportedly being sold. I wouldn’t give any hint to my children of what’s going to happen so their reactions will be authentic. I would ask them if they want a snack. No matter what, I would say want one too or one for myself. The server would recognize me and say they would rather not do business with me. I would get the attention of the supervisor, who exchanges a knowing nod with the server and tells me to leave. As I stoically hold my ground asking why and things begin to escalate, a bystander starts filming the scene. I calmly explain we are simply trying to enjoy our day and would be gone in a minute. Not only are the 2 of them not listening, they begin screaming vulgarities at me calling me every name they can think of. They follow me as I begin to walk away, trying to protect my children. One of them begins hurling containers toward us while the other wishes something unspeakable upon my children. Mike H the bystander then helpfully intervenes, putting down the phone that has the footage to go viral. Since there will be no public records of anyone having a permit to be a vendor in the park at this time, they will be seen as illegal on top of disgraceful classlessness.
False flag heckling. Jeez.
Sounds like a plot from one of those tween shows on Disney Channel!
Ever watch HGTV? Far too many people, including a famous couple from Waco.
It wouldn’t matter. If Hannity suddenly disappeared, Fox would easily find someone else to do his (highly profitable) schtick. They probably have a stack of audition videos on file. Hannity really isn’t the problem; his management and his fans are.
Her dining companions probably have the same views, and they were not turned away. She was refused service not because of her views but because of her actions. Two different things.
