Out-fucking-standing. I saw it in the paper this morning and let out a whoop. Thank god some part of our legal process still works. In more good news, I also see that the WDC judge in the Stevens trial won’t allow a mistrial. That could give grounds for appeal, however. I also see that there may be corruption charges brought against a former aide to both Murkowskis. Juneau is such a cesspool.
Shows how just an itty bitty success can really go to someone’s head. Of course, I’m sure Fox will be diligent in challenging her on these assertions…
“Oh gosh gee shucks Todd, I know yer in jail now; that sure is a pickle. Tell ya what, I can’t come down to getcha right now, ‘cause don’tcha know we’re middle class now and we just don’t have enough hard earned American money to spend on bail and such. Tell ya what, try to kill another prisoner your first day there. That way those folks’ll know ya as the serious guy ya are, and not as some blinkin’ liberal they can take advantage of. Ya gotta show 'em whose boss, babe! I gotta run - for some reason the the next president of this great country of ours scheduled a campaign stop for just the two of us in Belize. Talk to ya soon, babe. I love ya.”
Well, they used to be. I don’t take anything away from somebody who works for what they have and who makes it to a more comfortable level than their parents ever did. They’ve worked hard for their assets. I’m unapologetic for having far more than my own parents ever had. But I don’t pretend to be something I’m not. She can have bragging rights about where she came from, but to claim she’s still just one of the folks is pure political bullshit.
Do you have a cite for that? Because they don’t have enough income to raise five kids, give to charity, which they do (but surprisingly, at a very low rate for someone I’d expected to be a tither) and be worth that much money - unless their income for the past two years has been unusually low, or they have additional sources of assets, or they are really really frugal…
So today we’re treated to an article about Todd Palin’s returning to the state to speak with an investigator about Troopergate. Not responding to the subpoena, mind you, which anybody with a brain would have complied with, but rather talking to a lawyer who is part of the Personnel Review Board over which Bible Spice has complete control.
While here, he whored out his youngest daughter Piper yet again, presenting her on stage with him at a local Barbie rally that netted all of 300 people. Ah, those family values, doncha know.
When the supremes uphold the superior court decision this week, which they are absolutely obliged to do or face the spectre of an out-of-control executive branch in the future, the investigative report will be issued on Friday as scheduled. Of course there will be immediate howls of outrage from the McCain campaign about bias, after not allowing anyone to respond to the subpoenas or to provide testimony which might have cleared up any fuzzy issues.
I wait with breathless anticipation for the demands for resignation of the five legislators who felt it was just fine to try to subvert the state constitution in order to further their own careers in a future Mooselini White House.
