Satellite Internet. Grrrr.

Ten inches of snow on the satellite. No problem. Actually seems to go faster.

Little. Teeny. Tiny, bit of misty rain/snow? Poof. No Internet.

I have to go out there with a extender paint roller, with a towel on the end and wipe the baby water droplets off.

And do it again 10 minutes later.

Good thing you don’t live in an area prone to airborne moisture. Sounds like you need some of this to spray onto the satellite dish. Water’ll just bead right off.

I have considered that, but the beading is what makes it go out. I need something to make water sheet off. It works fine in heavier rain and great through lots of snow.
It is misty/drizzly conditions, when it beads up on the little white part that is aimed at the dish (I have no idea what that is called) that makes it go out.

Have you tried some sort of dish cover? I’ve seen them around here on TV satellite dishes. They cover the dish and horn completely.

Thanks! You may have hit on the answer.
I have never seen those around here, but I think I may have to get one.
Oddly enough we never have a problem with Dish Network in any weather.
It is just the internet dish (Wild Blue) that gets pissy.

Ahhh, Wild Blue. My mom has that, she gets weird weather interruptions too. I wonder if she’s ever looked at if the dish has water beading on it? I’ll have to ask her.

By all means, keep your horn wrapped in rubber at all times. :stuck_out_tongue:

Ha ha I’ve experienced the same thing with our satellite tv service when it storms, but never with internet. I thought about going with Wildblue like you have, but I guess now I’m glad I went with Blaze Wifi instead. Being a cheapskate apparently really pays off ha ha!
