Satellite Reign. Indie sequel to Syndicate

It’s on sale right now and I’m considering it. It’s getting good reviews. Anybody else awfully tempted at the idea of a modern Syndicate?

YES. Have you played it yet?

I’ve been playing it for a couple days after buying it on a whim. I either don’t remember or never played Syndicate so i have no idea how close it is but it is pretty fun on its own merits. I’m not very good at stealth, i end up brute forcing most missions.

No, having looked at more gameplay, I’m not quite sure. I loved the mood, settings and some of the mechanics of Syndicate but I’m still hesitating.

From the videos and images on Steam, it looks almost lawsuit-worthily like Syndicate. You even control a group of four agents.

Okay, I’m confused about the system requirements. I understood processors until dual- (and more) core ones showed up. Minimum requirements are:

I have an AMD A4-5000 APU, which is quad core, “with Radeon™ HD Graphics” (Radeon HD 8330). Will that work?

I think so. It doesn’t seem like a demanding game at all.

In any case, you can try out the wonder that is Steam refunds if it doesn’t work.
Also, there are unmentionable ways of trying out a game without paying for it before you go ahead and purchase it.

I have my doubts. The CPU is a quad core but each core is only clocked at 1.5 ghz. The game probably only utilises 2 cores effectively, hence the dual core minimum, so more cores won’t compensate for the lower clock rate. Radeon HD 8330 also is one of those integrated shared memory GPUs, meaning it and the CPU share the same RAM, and most likely only has 512 Mb reserved for itself.

It is not a graphics intensive game, it should run fine on almost any computer from the past five years or so.
