When I got a new job around three months ago, I thought I was saved. No more retail! No more night and weekend shifts! Crap.
There is much to be said for having a weekday or two off to run errands and go grocery shopping. Especially at the warehouse club. It is actually the closest grocery store to my home, and I shop there about every two weeks. I shop with a list, because impulse shopping there can be lethal. I can usually get in and get my cartful of stuff and get out in around 30 minutes.
Except now that I have to shop on the weekend, (after work is just not an option, I’m too tired) and the place is an absolute zoo. It’s not just the increased crowds. It’s the fucking sample booths they have set up every fucking where causing a huge traffic jam in all the main aisles. No, I don’t want any chicken salad. I just want to get to the damn fruit cups. I’m always pleasant to the sample-hawkers, but I seethe inside at the fucking moron people blocking the aisles, like the two women who parked their carts in front of the fresh meat case while they fed their kids lunch from the sample cart  !!! By Og the Omniscient, it is really annoying to have what was once a thirty minute pleasant errand turned into the Shopping Hour from Hell.
