Saturday Useless Facts

That cite doesn’t prove what color Coke would be without added color. It just says that Coke wasn’t *originally *green. It could be interpreted as saying, “Coca-cola has always been made with caramel coloring.”

Other sources seem to have a consensus (no cite because I could not find one sufficiently authoritative) that the only ingredients that could give Coke a color are the caramel coloring and “natural flavorings” and Coke isn’t going to tell us what the natural flavorings are.

The “standard” def. is a young* cow who hasn’t yet calved. But some people use it to mean a youngish cow regardless of calving (rare) or a cow of any age who hasn’t calved (regional). You might even find a difference in use between beef and dairy cows (where calving is an important milestone for milking).

In any case, there is no simple way to eyeball a cow and tell whether she’s a heifer or not. But to tell that she’s a she …

Thank you for fighting Ignorance. However I was looking at the cute blonde on the right side of page under the “New Campaign” banner and got distracted.

Ummm…what was the question again?

Unless you are a 13 year-old boy. Then it makes you the coolest kid in school.

The problem is, my husband was raised on a dairy farm and has worked on one most of his life and is currently working on one…he would argue for a long time with you about that…

a heifer is a heifer is a heifer…

Clarification achieved

A heifer is heifer until she has a calf

Then she is considered a cow

Beef or dairy.

Beef are still heifers because they still have calfs
