Whoa! Just thought I’d update all those who partook in the thread about Goatse’s demise…
Seems there’s a grassroots rescue campaign afoot. My mom and I went to lunch and there were “Save Goatse” posters plastered all over dowtown Toronto, complete with B&W photo (the… er, “graphic part” was pixelated).
Wow! Who’da thunk it? There’s a heroic little band of folk trying to save his ass!
So far I’ve seen them plastered mostly around the entertainment district, so I’m guessing it started mostly around UofT, and I expect they’ll be around the Annex and will gradualy spill out from there (didn’t notice them earlier today, so I don’t know when this has started).
If you’re in an area that has the photocopied “Surreal Film Fest” and “Reg Hart” black and white posters, you’ll probably see the Goatse ones.
It’s on nearly every pole, and they used some serious whitewash paste.
Dunno how long they’ll be up. Depending where city workers are doing their thing, I’ve seen posters last not even a day (particularly on Yonge).
I’ll keep an eye out on the way home too. I didn’t notice them on poles on the way to work, but I’m not amorning person. I was half asleep and wouldn’t have noticed if a wanted poster with my own face was plastered on every TTC stop.
Should clarify - it’s on nearly every pole by City TV, and then several others in the general downtown area.
I don’t expect to see them much beyond the core so I should have been more conservative with my “all over town.”
I live downtown so, of course, as a Cabbagetown dweller “all over town” means “south of St. Clair, west of the DVP, and certainly not beyond Dufferin” beyond that, you’ll risk falling off the edge of the planet.
Didn’t see any. Guess the posters aren’t of interest to Government employees or residents of The Village.
You’re almost correct. Clearly civilization begins at Yonge Street (where I work) and extends west to Parkdale (where I live). I think there’s some life up Roncesvalles, but I can’t be too sure …
