Saw a very old thread, urban parks

http://www.straightdope.com/classics/a2_449.html - Largest city park?
I noticed that Cecil mentioned many parks in large cities, but I thought it may be worthwhile to mention a park in a small southern city, http://hitchcockwoods.org - Hitchcock Woods. While it is not a great place to take the kids for playing on the swings or jungle gyms, as Hitchcock woods is a horse riding reserve, it is a beautiful and splendid place, whether you ride horses or not, to spend endless hours hiking and exploring its greater than 2000 acre, wooded expanse.

Why do you consider Hitchcock Woods to be relevant to the column that you cite? Hitchcock Woods, according to the website you give, is a private park, although the foundation that owns it allows the public to use it. It’s not clear from the description, but is it even within a city? Also, just as a matter of terminology, your first link is not to a thread. It’s to a column by Cecil. That’s quite a different thing.

Since there is no general question here, I’ll move this to MPSIMS.
