Here’s some more food for thought. GWB has been involved in a “relationship” with Condoleezza Rice for several years. There is no evidence of an affair but my dad thinks Bush is a sleazeball.
Will this set the Bush campaign on its head?

Well, now, if that turns out to perhaps maybe have some basis in fact, however remote, how long will you deluded Bush-worshippers continue to support a homosexual drug addict with appallingly bad taste in sexual partners? And doesn’t this directly confront your complete and utter incompetence as judges of candidates?
Ah, the inevitable Sam method of dismissing all criticism of his grasp of facts and use of reasoning as “personal”. That’s an obviously useful avoidance tactic for some, but it’s transparent.
Now, are you ever going to tell us just why you’ve chosen to post bullshit so total that even you can’t define just what it is? Let’s see what you do have:
Is there any hypothesis, however imaginary, that would not fall under that category? Why shouldn’t we speculate on what the result might be IF Cheney’s “secure, undisclosed location” turned out to be a torture den where a leather-bound Condie whips his tender ass until he comes? That would be exactly as valid a topic as the one you’re trying to pass off here, wouldn’t it?
If there is no basis in fact, even an alleged basis, then yes, one does have to draw the line.
Why do you think the word “news” is apt? What’s “new”?
Bullshit. You have stated this crap as fact already. Just scroll up. On what basis did you do that?
Do you know what credibility is? Does your posting of shit you just made up, or perhaps copied from someone else who made it up, help it? “IF” you were accused of being a goddamned liar, what defense could you offer?
Oh, this is rich. You guys have been going on for FOUR YEARS about Bush’s guard service, almost wholly on the basis of, “There’s a guy who can’t remember seeing him in Alabama, and we can’t find the records.” So far with this Kerry thing, we have:
Wesley Clark telling journalists that Kerry would implode over an intern scandal.
Rumors that Gore did not choose Kerry as his running mate because his vetters found infidelity issues with Kerry.
More rumors that Dean had changed his claim to leave the race if he didn’t win Wisconsin because his campaign had received information about this Kerry issue, and thought it could bring him down.
When reporters tracked down the woman in question, her father said some very nasty things about Kerry, calling him a ‘sleazeball’. The woman is conveniently in Kenya.
A friend of the girl is quoted as saying that there’s much more to this than we know, and that it was ‘vicious’.
The thing that really raised my eyebrows was the “McLaughlin Group” panel, comprised of four Democrats and a Republican, all thinking that there was more to this story, and that it had ‘legs’. That surprised me, because I hadn’t seen any evidence that would make me think the same thing.
Clearly, this is innuendo so far, and we have no hard proof of anything. But there’s enough here that we should be at least able to discuss the potential ramifications of this on this board without being subjected to personal insults from the likes of you. So stick a sock in it.
Oh, and what was the evidence again of Bush’s cocaine use? I seem to recall plenty of threads about that, back in the day. Is hearsay only allowed against Republicans?
What we got is Drudge, Drudge, more Drudge, and Sam Stone. I really got a good chuckle out of the first days worth of Drudge when he linked to what appears to be newspaper in Finnish. When that boy works it, he works it hard!
(Like many subscription sites, the viewer is invited to “Logga In”.)
Well, Sam, at least you didn’t try to foist off that photo of Jane Fonda and Kerry making the Tighty Rightie internet rounds. Just look at what you posted here!
No. 1 is a wholly unsubstantiated rumor reported by Drudge, with Drudge as his source. As is 2. Where in the heck did you get 3? Oh, right, Drudge linking to Drudge. 4 is her Dad’s opinion about Kerry, but, has been laboriously pointed out to you, he doesn’t think the rumors are true. 5 is an entirely anonymous “friend”. And “friend” thinks its “vicious”. Well, that certainly settles that!
This isn’t weak, Sam. I dunno, whats the thermonuclear equivalent to “weak”?
And the McLaughlin Group is liberal-lefty? That’s news to this little black duck.
Are you panicking, Sam? Is that what this is? What are you worried about, you still have GeeDubyas splendid record as a Leader of Men, his military bearing and presumption, his febrile grasp of economics. On top of that, you got Jane Fonda and gay marriage! Take a chill pill, put your feet up. Happy days are here again!
(I know, I know, but I just can’t stand to see the guy suffer like that…)
“A guy” was a commanding officer, and where ARE those records? There seems to be evidence of his other service, so why is it missing here? Speaking of evidence, that’s what we don’t have with this story. In fact, there isn’t anything even approaching a reason to believe it - unless of course, you just want to.
In an off-the-record conversation (that somehow made it on the record). So far, nobody has come forward to say “yeah, I was there when he said it.”
Ah, rumors. Bravo.
And then some more rumors. Boy, Sam, is sure is one well-substantiated story.
The father did NOT say that Kerry did anything inappropriate with his daughter, though.
With her fiance. Why is it ‘convenient?’ She’s supposed to put her life on hold in case Matt Drudge digs up an unsubstantiated rumor involving her?
Well then, it must be true. A friend said it.
Wait a tick! She’s in Kenya! Isn’t that the same continent as Niger, source of Saddam’s yellowcake?
Aha! Deny that one if you can, you scurrilous liberals!
Y’all are hilarious. Every journalist in the United States is on this story like a Rottweiler on a pork chop. I have no doubt whatsoever that some of them are en route to Kenya even as we speak. Why don’t you guys just sit back and let them do their jobs? If there’s something there, you’ll be reading all about it soon enough.
It’s a long way to November. There’ll be lots of serious opportunities for everyone to fling charges and counter-charges and mount indignant defenses. If you use up all your good material now, what are you going to do when the big guns really start firing?
elucidator is being extremely generous in calling this “weak”. Nothing plus nothing equals nothing.
Sam, are you ever going to explain *why * you’re posting made-up shit here? Or even admit that you have?
Wait till Thanksgiving. Then we’ll finally get the admission that it was made-up shit.
Maybe so, though I question whether this is “doing their jobs” (aside from following an assignment) in the sense of giving people information they need or serving the public interest. The fact that this is a story at all is ridiculous.
If this scandalmongering and hypocrisy wasn’t bipartisan I might be surprised by some of this. It all started when the Democrats started making a big deal out of National Guard service. Canada, good. Nat Guard, bad? Up until then the mud-slinging had been muted for a US presidential campaign. Did everyone actually hear the gloves coming off? I did.
Nobody has criticized guard service. It’s the AWOL thing that bugs us…well that and the fact that he used his daddy’s friends to avoid serving in a war he supported for others.
That’s kind of silly, Beagle. To begin with, people were talking about the AWOL thing long before the campaign. Are you proposing that if it hadn’t come up, we’d be treated to a clean, issue-oriented campaign? This was going to get dirty anyway, unfortunately.
This just in:
From the parents:
Notice that the dad who supposedly called Kerry a “sleazeball” intends to vote for him for President.
Is that enough to kill this story or will the Tightie Righties find a way to hook it up to a repirator?
Actualy, Ann Coulter is working on a sting operation to catch Kerry in the act. She’s cleverly disquised herself with a pair of Groucho Marx glasses and nose, and has taken a job as a low level Kerry campaign worker. Those short, slinky dresses and her leggy apperance will be hard to resist. He’s going down (so to speak)!!!
I listened to Rush Limbaugh as much as I could stand this morning. I believe this was before the denial statement, but Rush already had things covered – according to him, if the “suspect” – he actually used this word in one of his comments – didn’t admit to anything, that was merely a sign that she had either been intimidated or bought off by the Democrats.
The lousy thing about this is that I suspect that our President will posture that he is aloof from the dirty stuff, maintaining a position of presidential distance, while his surrogates, Limbaugh, Coulter and the news department at Fox, do the actual dirty work as independent pundits.
"Because these stories were false, I assumed the media would ignore them. "
Isn’t that so precious you just simply want to hug her?
She added: “I never interned or worked for John Kerry”
If she never “interned or worked” for Kerry - how did her name surface? Does she know Kerry or did they just pick it out of a phonebook?
